The water wars are ongoing. The first consideration is removing contaminants.

There are many useful methods that are available.

A strong case is made for removing heavy metals. Distillation removes everything including

the heavy metals. Volcanic minerals most notably Zeolite has a negative charge that attracts heavy metals and is also a volcanic mineral. It has withstood the test of time.

"Polishing" water is in the same category as restructuring. A case was made decades ago for

changing the bond angle of H2O. That requires specialized knowledge.

Floccuating is an interesting term. Precipitation occurs naturally but is reduced by proper filtration and eliminated by distillation. Causing dissolved solids to precipitate out by adding volcanic minerals is apparently what we are discussing. Health benefits from the minerals

and also the purity... Seems a simple elegant solution. Would appreciate seeing before and after testing with some quantification.

Whether restructuring happens by adding a trade name volcanic mineral? Possibly

Some have devices that mimic the various effects water achieves during its course down

a stream with some type of swirling effect. Such water is highly beneficial to plants.

Minerals including trace are crucial for health and metabolic functioning.

In the presence of structuring may be more beneficial.

The common threshold of testimonials vs reproducible evidence once again...

A lot of confusing information here, Dr. Kory. I know this is a work in progress, but you're selling this stuff and I bought it and I need clarity. Your latest recommendation is to use RO + 10% tap. RO needs to sit with Aurmina for 5-15 minutes and likely does not need to be filtered after as there should be no floc. Same with distilled. Tap needs to sit with Aurmina for 48-72 hours and the floc will need to be filtered.

1. How long does the 90/10 blend of RO/Tap need to sit?

2. Does it still need to be filtered (as it does contain tap water)?

3. Are coffee filters good enough as some are using here?

4. The lookalikes to your Korean gravity filter that are available on Amazon in the US like Santiva

https://tinyurl.com/bdz3vnyf or Zenwater https://tinyurl.com/3zzh9446 also add minerals and make it alkaline water. Is this counterintuitive to the Aurmina approach? Your Korean device looks much simpler. Help me out here!!

5. You said in a previous article that you pour the Aurmina treated water into your gravity filter. Are you pouring the floc in as well? If not, how do you avoid pouring that in? Are you using the spigot?

Lastly, I've been testing Distilled, RO, Mountain Valley Spring and Tap with Aurmina. The last 2 have floc. The RO may have a tiny bit after 48 hrs (hard to tell). Also, the RO and Mountain Valley have bubbles where the others don't. Obviously it's some gas, but is there a better explanation for the bubbles? I have a pic, but can't seem to upload it here.

Thanks!

There is evidence that reverse osmosis water promotes fungus growth. Were you aware of this Dr Kory?

I lost water during a hurricane . It was out for a week. I never lost electricity. In preparation of the hurricane I had filled containers with RO water and my bathtub with tap water. I had an RO countertop unit (electricity dependent) and filtered the tap water for drinking when my RO containers depleted. Aurmina will be easier and provide better water if it happens again. I have now added an extra bottle of Aurmina to my emergency preparation supplies.

When the tap water came back on they issued a boil water advisory. The BW advisory lasted 2-3 days. But I was spooked and boiled the water for a full week. Then filtered. Now I know the time before a BW advisory is issued is also risky. That opened my eyes. Thank you for sharing. Basically I just don’t trust municipal water systems.

But the main reason I drink Aurmina daily as my only water is because it structures the water and I feel better hydrated. I will write a testimonial about that soon.

Aurmina is so easy as I currently just add it to RO water. But I am open to using tap and a coffee filter if I determine that is better. Staying tuned to the posts Dr. Kory. Thank you for educating me.

Been on a mission for several years now: healthy water, healthy air, & healthy food. Constant learning and tweaking my protocols. It’s a commitment but I am on zero meds at 62, and have zero chronic illnesses.

YAY! I saw the seaweed in your minerals table... Seaweed, I eat it everyday and as a little caucasian girl, that is rare. Seaflora Skincare taught me so much about seaweed and now my vitality feels improved since eating it daily and topically applying it. I also take Zeolite volcanic mineral powder sometimes to clean up the heavy metals a little more. Humic and Fulvic acid baths every few weeks. Shilajit in my coffee when I am feeling burnt out from working too hard. They all help keep me optimal. The books The Mineral Fix, and Boundless helped me to understand so much about the body that doctors never told me (likely cause they don't know) like how to test for minerals in the body, how to chelate heavy metals, how to balance minerals like copper and zinc, how to eliminate deficiencies. Your substack has been a source of affirmation and learning new details that help me too! Thank you Pierre :-) Can't wait to order your book when it is back in stock.

Loving this system. I’m using tap water, Aurmina and the Korean gravity filter. Some times use the RO and Aurmina because we have grandkids here for 10 days and they love getting the water from the glass container spigot. Will need to buy more Aurmina!

Roberta - hot off the presses, will be doing a post on this soon, but in discussion with a mineral water expert (forgive me, I am learning as I go), the ideal water for you is to:

1) Use your R.O water

2) Add 10-20% tap water

3) treat with Aurmina, then filter - optimal approach in terms of purity, balance and minerals

This column made me happy that I have a well and RO system that, I now, enhance with Aurmina. Before we installed the RO system I worried about the water quality even though we had it tested. It was fine, but hard. Also have a water softener. However, we built on a former orchard so I’m sure pesticides and perhaps arsenic was sprayed on the trees, and I don’t know how long it takes for that to get to the level of our well, which is at about 60 ft. Thanks for the lesson in BWA.

I have a well and am using my Boroux filter system to filter the Aurmina sediment. Is this good or am I also removing the valuable minerals from Aurmina?

I was thinking of doing the same with the Berkey filter I've been using, what would be the difference between Berkey alone and Aurmina then Berkey (or Boroux)?

Pierre Kory, MD, MPA's avatar

I would treat with Aurmina in a container, wait 24-48 hours then add to your Berkey, leaving sediment behind. Your Berkey will do the final "polishing phase

An incidental point but the phrase "The U.S. delegates most responsibility to states, counties, and municipalities..." struck me as confused. Providing clean water doesn't fall within any of the enumerated powers of of the US federal government in the constitution, so to the extent the people place that responsibility on their government it is on the states and/or on more local authorities. The federal government gets involved by setting technical standards which arguably makes sense in light of the interstate commerce aspects of water, treatment chemicals and equipment. And emergency response. Harder to justify is federal funding of nonemergency infrastructure projects. I think Federal taxes should be lower and states should fund state infrastructure. I don't like to see the inexorable growth of distant government power. Subsidiarity is the principle that power should not be more centralized than necessary. We do see a lot of corruption and fraud in state and local government, but I find in many cases that superficially local corruption in fact runs on federal funding.

We travel 3 months year in our motorhome and have limited space. Many campgrounds have unregulated water systems so we’ve used a Zero water pitcher for years for safety. On testing with Aurmina it produces no precipitation. Of course the Zero water filter needs changing depending on the water sources. So we run water through the Zero filter. Five pitchers to fill a gallon jug and then ad 1/2 tsp of Aurmina. This keeps the number of containers to a minimum for traveling. What are your thoughts?

Pierre Kory, MD, MPA's avatar

if no precipitation, you're good. But I would add a tsp to a gallon even though there is no precipitation, I like a little more minerals in my water (maybe because we have a ton of it, but Lisa and I typically add more

Wow - this is frankly disgusting, and making yet another argument for carrying a personal stash of chlorine dioxide - and Aurmina - at all times! Makes me wonder, how many of our health issues - and maybe even mental health issues - are created by contaminated & dead water? bottled & tap? Trust no one.

Will Aurmina remove lead, or other heavy metals?

And completely unrelated, do you still advise for the Shingrix vax?

Expand full comment
Pierre Kory, MD, MPA's avatar

it will remove all heavy metals and as far as the Shingrix vax, it is literally the only one I would ever consider, but only in someone who has sufferred from shingles before - I have never had it, and won't vaccinate against it until I get it, and even then I would see how much suffering it caused and/or how well it responded to a combo of chlorine dioxide, DMSO, ivermectin etc..
