This made me think the real biology question here isn’t about ‘structured water’ itself, but how mineral environments and charged interfaces shape water behavior inside cells. If that’s true, it could change how we understand hydration, transport, and even cellular function. What would be the clearest biomarker of that?

The shift away from “structured water” toward mineral-driven hydration is more aligned with established chemistry, especially Hofmeister effects and interfacial behavior. Still, claims about biological or agricultural benefits require controlled, reproducible studies beyond spectroscopic correlations to confirm real-world efficacy.

I grew up in an “American settlement “ in South America. We had a water system that pumped water from a “filter” at the bottom of the river into a tank upon the hillside which gravity fed all the houses below. However, during rainy season the filtration was overwhelmed and muddy water came from the taps. In the evening we would put water into large pots/containers, sprinkle alum in and leave it to set overnight. In the morning the mud was at the bottom and the clear water could be carefully poured off the top. I have long wondered what the effect of drinking the alum (whichever formulation it was) had on our health.

Another water/mineral question---The Midwestern Doctor has also discussed the circulatory effects of zeta potential of the blood, and likes a potassium ion treatment for water called Zeta Aid. I would be interested to hear your thoughts on this treatment. https://www.midwesterndoctor.com/p/how-to-improve-zeta-potential-and?utm_source=publication-search

This is such an important distinction. The conversation becomes much more useful when we move from rigid ideas of structure to how water actually functions in the body.

Pierre, you have ignored the effects of Deuterium in the water. This water isotope has huge effects on biology. The amount of D in water will vary from 150 ppm at the coast to about 80 ppm at altitude inland.

Although the concentration is low, it's a very active part of water. Look up Gabor Somalei's work.

Dr Gerald Pollack has spoken at a couple of major homeopathic research conferences over the past couple of years and has discussed the implications for his water research on homeopathic medicines. I summarized his thoughts on this subject and have added my own insights in this article published in the leading scientific journal that explores "hormesis" (the interdisciplinary field that explores the power of exceeding small doses of SPECIFIC substances on SPECIFIC biological systems).

This article was entitled "Exploring Possible Mechanisms of Hormesis and Homeopathy in the Light of Nanopharmacology and Ultra-High Dilutions" -- https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/15593258211022983

I’m not a physicist and don’t even play one on TV. Just the same, those with even a passing interest in science can find a wealth of information on the fascinating properties of water. Here are just a few:

Water is the only, or at least an exceptionally rare case of a compound that expands slightly (density decreases) just above its freezing point. Among other results, it apparently serves the “useful” purpose in ecology of mixing up a pond’s contents before it freezes, although I don’t understand the purpose of it. This is also, I think, the reason why rocks and other materials tend to crack if they contain water in freezing conditions.

There’s more than one type of “ice” each having distinct physical characteristics. Several types, in fact. Perhaps that shouldn’t be surprising. Consider the case of carbon. The same element that’s in your charcoal, in a slightly different format makes a good graphite pencil lead, or a lubricant. After enduring very high heat and pressure, it makes a passable diamond. As with the processes that make carbon into diamond (while that happens in nature), the alternate ice forms don’t happen in anything remotely resembling everyday conditions.

We are about 70% water. Yes, we take it for granted. But life couldn’t exist without it, and it’s a far more unusual material than one might suspect.

Dr Kory My wife had preordered (in December of last year) a copy of From Volcanoes to Vitality. Unless she missed it, we have not received a copy of the book yet or any indication of when to expect it. Can you please let me provide me an update. Thanks Tom C

It's amazing how you figured all this out. You've done a great job researching this water science and communicating it in an understandable way. I'm excited about your products and really want to try them on my gardens, and body, up here in Canada. I don't know if I will be able to get the products up here though as there are no shipping options. I would be willing to pay extra fees if your product could be sent here so I hope there's a way.

Uggh- this post needs to be rebutted….sorry for the extensive quoting…but here goes:

@ pg 4-40 "Some of the internal energy in structured water is translated into lower frequency patterns, but some is also converted into a high frequency emission in the visible range of electromagnetic energy. This emission occurs at about 5000A of wavelength, which is blue-green light. This light emission is characteristic of structured water. It can be seen coming out of very cold, clear mountain lakes that have highly structured water, while lakes that have blackish, impure water do not emit this frequency of energy. The emission of visible light is a characteristic feature of liquid crystal formation. At the instant that a liquid crystal forms, it emits visible light. The phase transition of liquid crystals can be observed and measured by the emission of this light. which occurs at specific frequencies. That fact that these crystals emit light at specific frequencies or colors means that they could be used to make a liquid crystal color television.

What we have discovered about the process of structuring water is that the energy must be added slowly and gradually. The pulsed strobe light and drum music that is in sync with the proton movements is an example of an effective way of structuring water. By moving the proton along gently, we use it as a carrier of the energy that we are trying to put into the intermolecular bonding structure. If enough energy can be put into water molecules so that they form into chains of hydronium ions, then the water has become structured. The degree of structuring is determined by the length of these hydronium chains, and by the cooperative bonding that exists between the chains. More energy means greater structuring

@pg 4-43: The water chains have longer bond formation times than ordinary water, and this is related to the long action times of the translocating protons which make-up the hydronium ions.

@ 4-13: The exact nature of the bonding process for structured water is not known. but it is possible that only very small amounts of carbon, silicon, or iron would greatly influence the bonding process and increase substantially the lifespan and viability of the structured water mesophases. When silicon is present in water, its bonding time becomes very long, and from this it may be inferred that substances that contain silicon, such as ordinary sand, which is silicon dioxide (Si 0 2), will structure water to a high degree. We have been able to confirm this in our work at PAI. When we added a very small amount ( . 01 % ) of silicon in the form of silicon gel. silicic acid, or powdered quartz to water, we found that it structured the water to a much higher degree than if we did not put the silicon in the water

@ 4-48:In the following experiments, the test water was not spun around a crystal, but was instead exposed to two different types of energy:

9. Water that was exposed to Kiva and Vita Lights, which are high in their emission of UV radiation, showed an increased UVA of 1% in 25 experiments.

10. Water that was treated through meditation, prayer. and singing, called "structured spirit water" (SSW) showed the highest UVA ever measured in our lab. In a series of 12 tests, UVA rates from 10% to 16% were measured, with one test showing a maximum UVA increase of 40%.

11 . Water that had a . 01 % solution of silicic acid added to it showed an average UVA increase of 4% in 12 tests."

I too was stunned. Even more that Prof. Exley’s vaunted Silicic Water (to remove aluminum)…it turns out there is a way way more effective method….right in the palm of our hands. Sorry, gee-whiz-bang "just-add-random-(proprietary) minerals" (to sell) falls flat on its face.

Best!

A few things to consider in your rebuttal: 1) I did not say that external energy devices could not structure water, but without minerals, they would not hold that structure, as otherwise it would be impermanent. 2) Silica ( a compound that makes up minerals, by the way) would absolutely allow for prolonged structuring. Still, silica is not a biologically active mineral, and 3) the most relevant aspect of any water is its biological impact, no matter what is used to structure it, and 4) if you read my post carefully, you can see that I fully believe water can be structured. Still, the field of water chemistry is such a messed up one , long history of arguments and debates on nearly every claim, there is no concensus on determing structured water or even in some camps whether it exists, thus I am simply trying to explain water using long established mineral-water science - although yes, the minerals I am most interested in are sold by me, they are not proprietary at all - sold around the world, more than several brands in this country alone, my focus is on educating on the unique aspects of themarox's actions in water and the biological impacts studied and observed, particulalry in agrictulture. The methods you are a big fan of above are not scalable for the world or humanity and require external energy inputs. This is apples and oranges
