My spouse will undergo chemo for bladder cancer in a month or so. Yesterday was his 2nd TURBT, the first showed only non-invasive tumors, we await the next path results. Where might I find info on Ivermectin, etc, that has been, or could be used in his chemo cocktail that I can present to the urologist ? I have seen just one trial, not on humans, and it seemed fairly inconclusive. Thanks!

DB RCT has a downside b/c when lacking, it overrides anecdotal evidence. Many herbal medicines known to be beneficial in certain conditions for decades are not recommended b/c DB RCTs are not done b/c big Pharma can't make any money. This is where the NIH should step in and document these beneficial treatments.
Conventional medicine will never cure most chronic diseases as they define them. Con-med creates diseases ad hoc. If they can find a group of patients that have a similar set of symptom(s) they will call it a disease e.g. sleeplessness is insomnia. Then if their treatment palliates or suppresses those few symptoms its called a success. Let some other drug/doctor deal with the other remaining, new or changed symptoms of the patient. Its the biochemical Whack-a-mole theory of medicine which very rarely cures chronic diseases.
Ironically, every one of con-med’s drugs has "side effects" (just effects) that match the symptoms for which it is prescribed. e.g. Aspirin, acetaminophen and ibuprofen can all Cause headaches and fever for which they are prescribed to suppress! Ritalin is an “upper” that causes ADHD type symptoms similar to those it is used to manage. Radiation & chemo drugs can cause and sometimes cure cancer. SSRI’s and other antidepressants can Cause depression and homicidal & suicidal ideation. Budesinide, an asthma inhaler, can cause "Paradoxical bronchospasms". etc. etc.
I have used AI to compare the indications to the side effects of the top 500 drugs used by con-med. EVERY single one has side effects that match the indications. So if you want to prescribe in this manner, it is easy to find potential repurposed drugs. Just search for the symptoms you want to palliate/suppress in the side effects of known drugs.
Most traditional medicines, including homeopathy, Chinese medicine and others, define the disease as ALL the symptoms experienced by the patient, mental, emotional and physical (MEP). So their treatments must cure or at least ameliorate ALL the symptoms long-term (after treatment stops) to be called successful.
If con-med medicines were prescribed homeopathically (i.e. symptoms caused matching well the totality of mental, emotional and physical symptoms of the patient) they would be curative as homeopathic medicines are. Conventional medicine is practicing bad homeopathy with usually only a partial match of drug symptoms to patient symptoms.
Old medicines, new uses. I am torn on this issue because I have 2 related autoimmune diseases affecting joint & skin. My dermatologist decided to pursue authorization of medication that worked but was funded by Novartis; instead he was going to prescribe Methotrexate, a recycled cancer drug that requires frequent level monitoring, should not be taken by older women (but is Medicare's drug formulary), and is contraindicated with other medications. I fit all those categories and refused. He argued with me without reviewing existing medicines. For 3 months I had no treatment for PsA & PsO. Rheumatologist was asked for off label script for hydroxychloroquine; to which she answered if she was prescribing a pill it would be Methotrexate. Again I refused. I was put on infusions of Orencia which made both conditions worse, I was taking regular doses of Tylenol and Advil & aggravated kidney/liver levels.

Old drug Methotrexate pushed.
It has become an issue where it is patient heal thyself.
Frustrating, irritating. Expense on my part. Little medical care. Arthritic pain has been so bad I lose grip on thingsI
I have turned to topical use of frankincense essential oil, frankincense/myrrh salve, magnesium butter. and herbal tinctures to relieve pain. I use turmeric+black pepper and ginger in diet, teas, and supplements.
Doctors, the medical facility, insurance and Medicare don't really care as long as they get their visit payments. Very frustrating especially when I feel I am doing most of treatment
So old medicines are fine if fits medical construct, without considering other medications I take.
My son was diagnosed with RA after receiving a 2nd dose of the Pfizer injection. Put on high dose prednisone after nearly losing hus eye to Necrotizing Scleritis, which led to the RA diagnosis.
He has been injecting himself with Methotrexate (an immunosuppressant cancer drug), & the monoclonal antibody Amjira, after the prednisone he was on failed to prevent a "flare-up".
He is now 100 pounds overweight and nearly unrecognizable.
No "cure" in sight. Only drugs to keep inflammation at bay.
So sorry, Betsy, about your horrible experiences with both old drugs and old ways of thinking inside the box.

For this reason, pharmaceutical companies with expensive drugs will likely try all sorts of dirty tricks to eliminate them.
When a friend of mine talked to his doctor about Ivermectin,
he said that the doctor had seriously said, "That drug is used to treat COVID-19 and has caused many deaths."
